4-H Celebrates and Connects
On Wednesday, 5th August 2026, members of the 4-H family gathered at Kafe Blue, Wrightson Road, Port of Spain, for an evening filled with celebration, fellowship and renewed purpose at the 4-H Shades of Green – Back in Times Party.
Held during the downtime of the JAVA holiday period, the event was organized to honour and appreciate the dedication of our 4-H Voluntary Leaders, whose continued commitment plays a vital role in the development of young people throughout our communities. The evening also served to raise awareness about ongoing plans to rebuild the 4-H Clubhouse in Carapo, an important project aimed at strengthening the future of 4-H activities and youth engagement.
From the moment guests arrived, the atmosphere was warm, lively, and welcoming. Playful tequila shots upon entry added a fun touch to the start of the evening, while the house DJ kept the energy flowing with a sweet selection of music that perfectly captured the nostalgic “Back in Times” theme.
Patrons also enjoyed a delicious variety of cutters from the house restaurant and bar, creating the perfect setting for laughter, conversation, and connection among friends and supporters of 4-H.
Although the crowd was significantly smaller than expected, those who attended truly had a grand time. Many shared that the evening was enjoyable, relaxing, and well worth the experience, proving that the spirit of an event is often measured not by numbers alone, but by the quality of the moments shared.
As with every 4-H project and event, valuable lessons were learned. Each experience helps us grow, improve our planning, and strengthen our outreach efforts. We embrace those lessons with gratitude and optimism, confident that the next event can only be better.

The 4-H Shades of Green – Back in Times Party was more than just a social event. It was a reminder of the strength of community, the value of volunteerism, and the shared vision that continues to move 4-H forward.
