World Food Day TOBAGO 16/10/2024
From the eyes of the AGRCS 4-H Clover Buddies Club
Allyuh… ah doh lie when ah say ah love, love, love 4-H.
Is d people, the peace and the prosperity that makes it all worthwhile…
now… ah take 7 of my 4-Hers across to Tobago… with their parents (of course), for World Food Day celebrations with we Tobago 4-H team…
ah vex we didn’t think to stay overnight as many ask “Allyuh here tomorrow?”…
is what we see, didn’t see, do and didn’t do…
the day was good hott… ah swear we were gyming fus it was hott…
but dat eh stop we..
From d time we touch down bout 8:30 in the morn, we eat and then headed out…
Fort Milford we met first…
didn’t see a plane come in but the view was breathtaking… the girls soaked up everything like a proper girls’ trip…
Next, the maxi came and we headed to the food hub…
Shaw Park was buzzing as everyone busied themselves setting up their booths…
food galore, agriculture, art, drama, dance, technology, science, math…
everything for exploration in one place.
We eat, drink, play games and win prizes…
we sit down, rest, talked, laughed and shared as the experience went way past overwhelming…
dey see we…
the mic man call we out loud and dem girls had to big up Arima and Trinidad when they say that the AGRCS 4-H Clover Buddies was in d house…
these 4-H girls of mine…
like dem born to travel…
politely engaged all whom they met.
Ah say waaaaayyyyy…
I felt proud…
parents were proud too…
They represented Arima Girls’ R.C. and the 4-H club well…
For added fun, we journeyed to Fort King George in Scarborough….
we rested, ate again… those 4-Hers rolled around, played…
eh…
it was sweet to see the girls play… outdoors… it reminded me of my time at school (great days)…
Tobago has ah air about it eh… a serenity that yuh cyah get vex when dey…
it was an awesome day trip and a thrilling experience that will be done again…
Leaving at 4:40 p.m. didnt happen…
flight got delayed…
left more like after 5…
glitches will happen on any trip…
Next time tho…
ah think we staying longer than a day…
