4-H County Caroni Celebrates a Fun-Filled 2nd Annual Fun Day

By Laura Ram

On Friday, February 21st, 2025, the 4-H County Caroni hosted its highly anticipated 2nd Annual Fun Day at Todd’s Road Recreational Facility, bringing together 4-H students from Secondary and Primary schools in the County Caroni 4-H region. The event was a vibrant celebration of teamwork, camaraderie, and enjoyment, featuring various exciting activities for students and voluntary leaders.

The day kicked off with an energetic Fun March Past, where students proudly paraded in their school colors, showcasing their enthusiasm and the enduring spirit of the 4-H community. This lively start set the tone for a day filled with thrilling competitions and joyful interactions.

Participants engaged in a variety of games and challenges designed to test their agility, teamwork, and creativity. Cricket matches attracted eager competitors, while novelty games such as “Fill the Bottle,” “Ball and Spoon,” and “Drink Water and Mind Your Business” kept the excitement levels high. Other crowd favorites included “Ring Around the World,” “Sack Race,” and the always-entertaining “Tarzan and Jane.” The “Scavenger Hunt” introduced an adventurous twist, while the “Computation Race” tested both mental and physical dexterity. Each activity fueled the competitive spirit and ensured a day of endless fun.

A selection of food and drink stalls added to the experience, offering a variety of tasty treats such as hot dogs, corn soup, aloo pies, chow, juice, icy lollies, snacks, local treats, and much more. These refreshments kept attendees energized and contributed to the festive ambiance.

More than just games and food, our 4-H Fun Day provided a meaningful opportunity for 4-H students and voluntary leaders to connect with peers from different clubs across County Caroni. The event fostered new friendships, strengthened existing bonds, and reinforced the spirit of unity within the 4-H County Caroni.

The success of the 4-H County Caroni Fun Day would not have been possible without the invaluable support and contribution of various individuals and organizations. Special thanks to our specially invited guests, and all 4-H Executive Members for their tireless efforts in organizing the event, as well as to the Volunteer Leaders who dedicated their time and expertise to make the day a resounding success.

The 2nd Annual Fun Day leaves participants with cherished memories and eager anticipation for next year’s festivities.
